A new company has been launched, bringing a platform system for repair and maintenance to the European offshore wind market.

SkyDeck Europe BV, a newly set up company coming from the same stable as Sky-Access BV, is responsible for bringing the QuikDeck system to Europe.

The new light weight platform system, has a 35kg/m² of own weight and a load capacity of up to 360kg/m². According to the company, the system can be installed quickly and easily, suspended on chains connected to the frame work of the nacelle offshore.

SkyDeck Europe BV is looking into system’s applications within the offshore wind sector, saying that it can reduce both installation and O&M costs, and at the same time increase safety while working at height.
